Future Movement Reiterates Support for Patriarch Raï's Initiative

The political bureau of the "Future Movement" renewed its support for the proposals of His Beatitude Patriarch Raï, advocating for an international conference to resolve the Lebanese crisis through neutrality and keeping Lebanon out of regional and international conflicts, considering this call to be central to the mission of the Future Movement since its inception.

The statement issued by the political bureau during its electronic meeting, chaired by its leader, General Issam Abu Jamra, noted that "neutrality has become an urgent demand following the inability of the concerned presidents to form a government, despite four months having passed since their assignment, while the Lebanese people are stripped of their deposits in banks and basic living essentials such as electricity, water, and daily services... and even fair justice by being deprived of knowing who is responsible for bringing ammonium to the Port of Beirut, storing it, and its explosion, which resulted in hundreds of deaths, thousands of injuries, and the destruction of thousands of homes in the capital Beirut."

The statement emphasized that "the ruling class has no concern other than sitting on the chairs, remaining in positions, and enriching themselves from the public and private funds they have appropriated. If the presidents and political forces had the ability and responsibility before God, history, and the homeland, we would not have reached this deadlock and resorted to the highest legitimate international authority recognized by Lebanon capable of resolving our problems and crises."

The statement called on "the forces controlling decision-making authority in Lebanon to exercise wisdom, abandon hatred, and look towards solutions that could emerge from the depths of the crises. The international conference has now become the last chance for salvation before Lebanon falls again into the clutches of colonialism and dependency on foreign countries that might exploit its oil resources, as has happened to other developing countries suffering from poverty while sitting on resources beneath the earth due to poor management and corruption among their rulers."

The statement declared the Future Movement's support for Patriarch Raï in standing "against the conspiracy to turn the authority's failure to manage the state into a coup against the constitution, where there is no escape except by declaring Lebanon's positive neutrality from regional and international conflicts through the issuance of international resolutions, similar to those that were issued after every crisis Lebanon faced since 1975."
