Sudan and the African Development Bank have agreed on a strategy to relieve the capital, Khartoum, of debts exceeding $400 million, as announced by the Sudanese Ministry of Finance.
According to a tweet published by the Sudanese Ministry of Finance on their official Twitter account, the African Development Bank is funding development projects in Sudan with over $500 million. It is noted that Sudan's debts to the group of multilateral creditors amount to approximately $5.5 billion, which includes international and regional financing institutions. Among these institutions are the International Development Association, the African Development Bank, the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, the International Fund for Agricultural Development, the OPEC Fund for International Development, the European Investment Bank, the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency, and the Islamic Development Bank.
