The Dubai Airshow 2021 started on Sunday and will run until November 18, featuring extensive participation from government entities and leading and emerging companies in the aviation, space, and defense sectors. The show includes more than 1,200 exhibitors, including 370 first-time participants, and civilian and military delegations from over 140 countries. The exhibition, expected to be the largest since its inception in 1989, has 20 country pavilions, including first-time participants such as the Czech Republic, Belgium, Brazil, Israel, and Slovakia, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
The Dubai Airshow 2021 is expected to attract more than 85,000 visitors over five days to explore the latest technological solutions, products, and services offered by various leading entities in the aviation, space, and defense sectors, along with conferences, discussion sessions, and ground and aerial displays.
The event will host a series of conferences featuring 250 aviation sector experts who will provide over 50 hours of insights focusing on nine topics, including cargo, sustainability, technology, and space. The aircraft ground and air displays are among the key highlights of the show, featuring more than 175 of the world’s most advanced aircraft and aerial maneuvers by the UAE’s Al Fursan aerobatic team, the Russian Knights of the Russian Air Force, the Surya Kiran team from the Indian Air Force, and the Saudi Hawks aerobatic team.
Notably, the next-generation Sukhoi fighter jet called "Checkmate," as well as the Boeing "777X" and "Leonardo AW609" aircraft, will be showcased for the first time in the world at the Dubai Airshow.
The 2021 edition will place significant emphasis on technology, providing a dedicated platform to showcase the latest emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, 5G technologies, cybersecurity, and automation in the sector's development. This year, the Dubai Airshow introduces a new feature: the "Dubai Airshow" app, which harnesses the power of artificial intelligence to facilitate business according to the profiles and interests of attendees.
Timothy Hawes, Managing Director at Tarsus Middle East, stated that the exhibition is an ideal opportunity for leading companies to share expertise and explore the latest solutions, technologies, and initiatives that contribute to the sector's sustainability, development, innovation, and resilience. He noted that the exhibition is a perfect platform to shape the future of the aviation sector by launching projects and initiatives that will accelerate modernization and transformation in the industry.
