In 2019, Trump pledged to complete 490 miles of the wall by the end of 2020, for which approximately $1.4 billion was spent. By January 2020, only 100 miles of the wall had been constructed, which is part of the campaign commitments Trump announced alongside his administration's attempts to reform the immigration system.
