Title: Europe Faces Its Most Severe Drought Wave in History

Europe is experiencing the worst drought in 500 years. This was stated in a report published by the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission. According to the report, more than half of the European Union's land (about 64%) is in areas where drought warnings or alerts have been issued. Experts indicate that the dry and warm weather in several western and Mediterranean regions will continue until November. The statement reads: "JRC experts believe that the current drought is the worst in 500 years." European Commissioner for Innovations, Culture, Education, and Youth, Maria Gabriel, pointed out that these weather conditions have a negative impact on water levels and grain crops, and lead to forest fires. According to Gabriel, the effects of climate change appear to be becoming more evident from year to year.
