The director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Rami Abdul Rahman, reported that more than 40,000 Syrian fighters have registered their names to go to Ukraine to fight alongside the Russians. He noted that "they will go in exchange for financial incentives and benefits." He explained that, so far, no one has departed from Syria to fight in Ukraine. Independent verification of this information is not possible. Recently, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that volunteers wishing to fight alongside Russian forces would be allowed to go to Ukraine.
