The Russian ambassador to Iran, Levan Jagarian, announced that a trilateral naval exercise involving Russia, Iran, and China will commence in mid-February in the Indian Ocean.
The Russian ambassador stated today, in a press release to the "Novosti" agency, that "the multi-party naval exercises will take place in the northern Indian Ocean in mid-February," noting that training will be conducted on search and rescue operations, as well as measures to ensure maritime safety. Russia, Iran, and China conducted naval exercises dubbed "Maritime Security Belt" at the end of December 2019.
