The "Islamic Resistance Movement" (Hamas) announced that a trilateral meeting took place between Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and the head of Hamas's political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh. The movement described the meeting as "fraternal," adding in a statement that it occurred on the sidelines of Algeria's Independence Day celebrations, without additional details. Hamas had previously stated that Haniyeh participated, leading a delegation from the movement, in the Algerian celebrations. It noted that this participation, which was at the invitation of the Algerian president, reflects "the deep relationship between Algeria and Palestine, as well as between the Palestinian and Algerian peoples," and it reaffirms the Palestinian resistance's pride in the supportive role of Algeria towards Palestine and the standing of Hamas among the Algerian leadership and people.
