Army Arrests Suspect in Child Abduction Case

A statement from the Army Command - Directorate of Guidance reads as follows: "A patrol from the Intelligence Directorate in the Dahar al-Baydar area detained citizen (H.B.) for his involvement, along with others, in the kidnapping of child Ryan Kanaan in the Halat - Jbeil area on 2/2/2022. The suspect admitted to carrying out the operation after scouting the location multiple times, and engaging in arms trafficking and drug use and promotion. An investigation has commenced with the detained individual under the supervision of the competent judiciary, and efforts are ongoing to arrest the other involved parties."
