Testing the Pulse for the Opinion of Dar al-Fatwa... and a Firm Response

Sources monitoring the situation told "An-Nabaa" that the pulse-checking process aimed to gauge the opinion of Lebanon's Mufti Sheikh Abdul Latif Deryan regarding the naming of the designated president. The firm response was that it is the deputies who will make the appointment, and Dar al-Fatwa will endorse it if the naming serves the interest of the country and the citizen. Regarding President Mikati, there may be a tendency towards him, but the naming is solely the responsibility of the deputies. The sources hope that the President will issue a mandate for whoever is nominated following the obligatory consultations to form the government as soon as the consultations are completed; otherwise, the situation will escalate politically and financially. It is not within the President's rights to delay the issuance of this decree, especially as the aim is to gain time rather than waste it.
