Pelosi's Plane Lands in Malaysia, Eyeing Taiwan

U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi arrived in Malaysia on Tuesday morning coming from Singapore, marking the second stop on her Asian tour, according to local news agency Bernama. The agency reported that "the special flight carrying Pelosi and her accompanying delegation landed at the Royal Malaysian Air Force base in Subang." Bernama noted that Pelosi will meet with Malaysian Speaker of the House Azhar Azizan Harun and Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob, after which she may depart for Taiwan at 5 PM local time. Taiwanese portal ETtoday reported on Monday that Pelosi is expected to arrive on the island late Tuesday, spend the night at the Grand Hyatt hotel, and on Wednesday morning visit the Legislative Yuan to meet with its leadership before leaving the island. Earlier, China threatened to take "decisive and effective" action if Pelosi decided to visit Taiwan.
