The "Agence France-Presse" reported that the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka warned that the country's economy "will collapse to an irreparable extent" unless a new government is formed within two days to restore political stability. Governor Nandalal Weerasinghe told reporters in Colombo, "If there is no government in the next two days, the economy will completely collapse, and we will not be able to save it."
