President Donald Trump stated that his meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu were positive.
In separate brief posts on 'Truth Social', Trump mentioned discussing various topics with them without delving into specifics.
Regarding his meeting with Netanyahu, Trump wrote, "We had a very good meeting alongside several members of the House. We discussed many important issues and topics."
Speaking about his meeting with Zelenskyy, the U.S. President commented, "A lot was discussed. The meeting went well."
Netanyahu and Zelenskyy were in Washington to attend the memorial service for Senator Lindsey Graham, a Republican supporter influential to both Israel and Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy noted that President Trump agreed to grant Ukraine licenses for Patriot missiles. He told 'Fox News': "He agreed to grant us the licenses and then I had a meeting with representatives of manufacturing companies, which are very strong American military companies. I hope we can enter into a productive partnership."
Zelenskyy also confirmed that during his visit to Washington, he informed Trump and U.S. Senate members about Ukraine's need for ballistic missile defense systems and interceptors. He told reporters about Ukraine's possession of drones capable of destroying Iranian and Russian-made drones, but emphasized the need for more weaponry to defend against ballistic missiles.
Following a meeting with Senate members at the Capitol, the Ukrainian President stated, "The real issue lies in the missile defense systems and defense against ballistic missiles. Of course, I briefed them on what we need."
