The Saudi Cabinet has decided to amend paragraph (1) of Cabinet Decision No. (27) dated 26/1/1421 AH, to state: "No minister may chair the board of directors of any company or be a member of the board, except for those whose chairmanship or membership is by order of the Prime Minister," according to the official newspaper "Um Al-Qura."
On another note, the council approved Saudi Arabia's accession to a cooperative agreement for Arab countries in Asia for research, development, and training in the field of nuclear science and technology (ARSIA), and authorized the Minister of Foreign Affairs — or his delegate — to complete the necessary procedures to inform the International Atomic Energy Agency after completing the required regulatory approvals for the kingdom's acceptance to join the aforementioned cooperative agreement.
The council also approved delegating the Governor of the Saudi Central Bank — or his delegate — to discuss with the British side concerning a draft memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Central Bank in Saudi Arabia and the Bank of England (Prudential Regulation Authority) in the United Kingdom for cooperation in the field of supervision of financial institutions, to sign it, and then submit the signed final copy to complete the necessary regulatory procedures.
Additionally, the council authorized the Chairman of the Saudi Space Authority — or his delegate — to discuss with the French side regarding a draft cooperation agreement between the Saudi Space Authority in Saudi Arabia and the National Centre for Space Studies in France for cooperation in the field of peaceful use of outer space, to sign it, and then submit the signed final copy to complete the necessary regulatory procedures.
