The American newspaper "Washington Post" reported that a senior American military official stated that 3 Iranian boats notably approached 2 American ships in the Gulf region. The American official told the newspaper that "the Iranian boats changed course after one of the ships issued a warning signal." The same official added that "the behavior of the Iranian navy has increased the risks of miscalculation and collision," noting that "the Americans will continue to fly and sail in any area permitted by international law." Earlier, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced the seizure of two Greek oil tankers, "Delta Peswind" and "Prudent Warrior," off the coasts of Bandar Lengeh and Asaluyeh.
