France Does Not Want to Break Anyone in Government Formation

European affairs expert Tammam Nour الدين confirmed that the French have learned from their mistakes and the difficulties of the Lebanese situation, which has led to a reduction in the conditions they previously set regarding ministers, benefiting from Washington's inclination to lift the veto on Hezbollah.

He added during an interview on LBCI that "Macron stated that France will push to form a government in Lebanon as soon as possible, even if the criteria are different, and so far, France does not want to break anyone against anyone." He pointed out that Macron's goal today is to form a government "in any way" and with minimal losses, but the condition of reforms still stands for providing assistance, noting that the party is currently helping France mediate between Presidents Aoun and Hariri.

Nour din indicated that Macron warns that if the desired change does not occur, a serious and deep crisis will arise, and France fears Turkish infiltration into Lebanon through Tripoli.

Earlier reports revealed France's intention to take action to find a solution to the crisis in Lebanon, showing that there is a French urgency to reopen the Lebanese file. This is evident in Macron's call to Saudi Arabia not to abandon Lebanon, as well as in Macron's quick proposal of the Lebanese file during his call with U.S. President Joe Biden.
