The final statement from the Astana negotiations on Syria, held in the capital of Kazakhstan, Nur-Sultan, emphasized the steadfast commitment to Syria's sovereignty, independence, and unity according to the principles of the United Nations Charter. The statement noted that the participating parties, represented by delegations from Russia, Iran, and Turkey, as well as representatives from the Syrian government and opposition, condemned "the ongoing Israeli military aggressions against Syria, which violate international law and Syria's sovereignty, threaten stability and security in the region, and called for their cessation."
The parties stressed "the need for further cooperation to definitively eradicate terrorist organizations represented by (ISIS) and (al-Nusra Front), recognized as such by the United Nations Security Council." The statement included a condemnation of "the parties and countries guaranteeing the existence and increasing activity of terrorist groups and related entities in various parts of Syria."
The guaranteeing parties and countries expressed their determination "to continue cooperation to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and to confront separatist plans aimed at undermining the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria and threatening the national security of neighboring countries." The statement indicated that the parties involved in the Astana negotiations reviewed "the situation in the region and the world, where the gathered parties emphasized the leading role of the Astana process in ensuring a sustainable resolution to the Syrian crisis." At the beginning of the resolutions, the parties and guaranteeing countries "stressed the importance of the Syrian constitutional committee, which was established with the contribution of the guaranteeing countries of the Astana format in accordance with the decisions of the Syrian national dialogue conference in Sochi."
