In his first reaction to the death of Egyptian pilot Ashraf Abu Al-Yasir, who passed away due to a health crisis in recent days, artist Mohamed Ramadan commented on what happened. Ramadan initially posted a picture of pilot Ashraf Abu Al-Yasir inside the aircraft alongside Amr Diab and Dina El-Sherbiny, captioning it: "Indeed, we belong to God and indeed to Him we return... Pilot Ashraf Abu Al-Yasir is in God's care... May God have mercy on him and grant him a place in the vastness of paradise, and patience to his family and loved ones." This tribute comes despite the ongoing legal dispute between the two, with the pilot having recently obtained a ruling for compensation of 6 million Egyptian pounds against Mohamed Ramadan.
However, the image posted by Ramadan sparked widespread controversy and backlash from commentators, who deemed it to carry another implication, particularly as it supports Ramadan's previous theory that the late pilot was lenient with all celebrities inside the aircraft, and that Ramadan was not the first person to enter the cockpit. In response to the criticism from commentators who felt that death should not involve such matters, Ramadan decided to change the accompanying image, opting instead for a black background with Quranic verses and funeral expressions.
