Death of Child After Falling from the Twentieth Floor in Sharjah

The Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, Major General Saif Al-Zari Al-Shamsi, announced that the police operations room received a report about a child who fell from the window of an apartment on the twentieth floor of a building inhabited by an Asian family, resulting in his immediate death due to the fall from a high place.

He explained that the police promptly moved to the incident site, where they found the child lying on his stomach and deceased. Parts of his body were scattered on the ground due to the fall from the high location (twentieth floor). The incident was examined, and evidence was collected while the deceased child's body was transported.

Al-Shamsi pointed out that when the child’s mother (of Asian nationality) was questioned, she stated that her son fell from the window of their apartment while she was in the kitchen at the time of the incident. A serious negligence report was filed against the family due to their failure to pay attention to their child and the improper placement of the child’s bed in the room.

He emphasized that negligence by families, especially those residing on higher floors, can cost them their children’s lives, particularly since children do not understand the consequences of approaching windows and balconies. He urged not to place items near the windows that children can climb on, exposing them to the risk of falling.
