Israel's Defense Minister Yisrael Katz announced that tunnels along the border, “constructed with Iranian backing over the last 15 years, had become a key stronghold for Hezbollah.”
Katz stated, “We are demolishing the tunnels and destroying homes utilized as strongholds and advanced positions by Hezbollah,” emphasizing that “the security zone now extends from the coast in the west to Sheqif and Mount Hermon in the east.”
He further commented: “We have an unprecedented fortified security zone and will continue inflicting damage on Hezbollah.”
