A TikTok account asked its followers to share their strange birth stories, prompting a Canadian woman to shock everyone with her tale of giving birth to her daughter while asleep. Amy Dunbar responded, "This request was made for me!" In a video that has been viewed over 630,000 times, Dunbar explained that after 12 hours of labor in the hospital, she was given an epidural that helped relieve some of her pain and allowed her to get some sleep.
After a while, the nurse returned to check on her and noticed through the medical monitoring equipment that Dunbar was experiencing a significant contraction while asleep, according to the British newspaper "Mirror." However, she hadn't been asleep for long, as Dunbar recounted: "One minute after that, the nurse was waking me up, saying she had lost the baby's heartbeat on the monitor, but she told me, 'Don't worry, I'll find it. The baby might have just moved.'"
Dunbar added, "I did exactly as I was told, moved the blanket, and I said, 'Something is happening,' only to be surprised by my baby on the bed. She had delivered herself while I was sleeping; that significant contraction the nurse saw was her birth."
She continued, "Suddenly, the room was filled with doctors and nurses to examine my baby, who wasn't crying, so of course, I felt panic." However, after the nurses checked on her baby, they returned her to Dunbar and confirmed that she was perfectly fine. Since the video was posted, it has garnered 115,000 likes and 2,200 comments, expressing astonishment and joy at the safe arrival of the baby.
