President Michel Aoun received caretaker Prime Minister Hassan Diab at the Baabda Palace as part of Diab's efforts regarding the government formation process.
The National News Agency reported Diab's statements to the media this afternoon, where he said, "I discussed with His Excellency the conditions in the country, especially regarding government formation. I sensed full readiness from His Excellency to reactivate the formation process, as I did with President Saad Hariri and President Berri." He pointed out that there will be a meeting soon between President Aoun and President Hariri at a mutually suitable time to continue this issue and reach an appropriate solution for the formation of the government as soon as possible. Diab added that the completed and positive points far exceed the few obstacles that still require some political maneuvering, indicating that he sensed everyone's intention to pursue this matter quickly, as the priority for Lebanon and the Lebanese is to address all daily and essential issues, whether social, economic, or financial, which can occur once a government is formed.
Earlier today, caretaker Prime Minister Hassan Diab visited both Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.
