Greek Interior Minister Takis Theodorikakos confirmed that there was a shooting between police officers and a group of criminals in the capital, Athens, which resulted in the death of one of the attackers. He stated, "Two police officers confronted the robbers in the Patissia area of Athens, where there was an exchange of gunfire, and as a result of the incident, the officers managed to kill one of the criminals... They courageously saved the citizens." He added, "The officers sustained minor injuries, fortunately." He also mentioned that he, along with the capital police chief, visited the hospital where the officers were taken and assured about their health condition, saying, "Everything will be fine."
