Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro announced that his country has defeated outgoing U.S. President Donald Trump.
In a broadcast on Twitter, Maduro stated: "Today, January 20, Donald Trump has left. We defeated him. This is a victory for Venezuela. He left alone... this is our victory." Since taking office, Trump and the United States have intensified sanctions against individuals, businesses, and oil entities linked to Maduro's government, in addition to supporting attempts at coups and destabilizing the country due to Venezuela's policy rejecting American dominance.
