Deputy Hussein Haj Hassan confirmed that "the Baalbek-Hermel Bloc is preparing a new draft law to eliminate communalism, which will be submitted to the parliamentary council."
The National News Agency reported today that Deputy Hussein Haj Hassan stated during a meeting held in Baalbek-Hermel regarding the issue of merging and sorting that the Baalbek-Hermel Bloc is working on a new draft law to eliminate communalism, given its significant importance in addressing many citizens' problems in the region. Haj Hassan clarified that all files related to the merging and sorting issue in Baalbek-Hermel have been completed. He expressed his belief that there is a decision somewhere that does not want the merging and sorting project to be completed, explaining that about 22 meetings have been held with judges, the General Directorate of Urban Planning, and all those concerned with the file, but unfortunately, so far, they have not reached the desired result.
Haj Hassan added that there is something abnormal despite diligent follow-up and securing funding and maps, indicating that the Administration and Justice Committee does not place this on the agenda, and despite a draft law being submitted and referred to committees, and follow-up with specific judges, the issue remains unresolved. Deputy Hassan questioned what is happening, stating, "What is going on? We should not be surprised how the state has reached where it is, when we see the manner and mechanism of dealing with people's issues in this way." He emphasized that no obstructor will deter him from his determination to solve the merging and sorting problem. The meeting was attended by Deputy Hussein Haj Hassan, Deputy Ibrahim Al-Moussawi, Hezbollah's Bekaa region official Hani Fakhreddine, Civil Planning Bureau Director Bassam Amhaz, and engineers from the Civil Planning Bureau in Baalbek.
