The Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced the start of a military operation in Sana'a from Friday night to Saturday in response to threats. The coalition urged civilians to avoid approaching the targeted sites in Sana'a.
On Thursday, the Coalition confirmed that Saudi defenses had intercepted a drone aimed at Abha International Airport. It noted that debris from the intercepted drone fell in the vicinity of the airport. The coalition reported 12 minor injuries among workers and travelers of various nationalities at Abha Airport.
In a statement, the coalition emphasized that it would take "firm operational measures in response to threats against civilian airports and travelers," asserting that the Houthis chose to escalate by targeting civilian airports and civilians. The coalition indicated that the Houthi militia's deliberate targeting of civilian airports is an intolerable escalation that necessitates a deterrent response.
