On Monday, the Iranian Embassy in Cyprus described Israel's allegations regarding Tehran planning an attack on Israelis on the island as "baseless." The embassy stated in an email response to a Reuters request for comment, "This regime always issues such baseless claims against the Islamic Republic of Iran." The spokesperson for Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett accused Iran on Monday of attempting to carry out an attack on Israelis living in Cyprus, following the arrest of a man in the Cypriot capital carrying firearms last week.
