Saudi state media reported that the coalition led by the kingdom announced late Thursday that it thwarted an attack involving four explosive-laden drones and a ballistic missile, which were launched by the Yemeni Houthi group towards the city of Jazan in southern Saudi Arabia. The Saudi-led military coalition intervened in Yemen in 2015 in support of the government of President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi, who was ousted from power by the Iran-backed Houthis. The Houthis have not yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but the group frequently conducts drone and missile attacks on Saudi Arabia.
