Israeli Forces Kill Palestinian Teen in West Bank Clashes

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that Israeli forces shot and killed a 16-year-old Palestinian boy during clashes that occurred in the occupied West Bank late on Wednesday. The Israeli army stated that its forces opened fire on Palestinians who were throwing Molotov cocktails near the Palestinian village of Beita, south of Nablus. An Israeli army spokesperson mentioned that "the forces acted to stop the suspects by firing at them," adding that an investigation into the incident will take place. The Israeli army was searching the area for Palestinian gunmen who opened fire on Sunday at a nearby intersection, resulting in the death of one Israeli and serious injury to another. Residents of Beita and the nearby village of Odala reported clashes between Palestinians and Israeli forces near the entrances of the two villages in recent nights. The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that another Palestinian was injured in the back during the clashes on Wednesday and is undergoing treatment in the hospital. Tensions have increased in the West Bank and Jerusalem during the month of Ramadan, with clashes occurring over several days between Israeli police and Palestinians near the Old City in Jerusalem.
