The American news network CNN has fired three employees for coming to the workplace without receiving COVID-19 vaccinations. Bloomberg reported today, Friday, that CNN ordered all employees working in its offices to be fully vaccinated. In a memo to employees yesterday, Thursday, CNN President Jeff Zucker stated that the network has a "zero-tolerance policy in this regard" and dismissed the three employees after learning last week that they came to work without vaccinations. He added, "You must be vaccinated to come to the office. You must be vaccinated to work in this field, with other employees, regardless of whether you will enter an office or not." Consequently, CNN relied on a "system of honor" and did not require employees to show proof of vaccination. Zucker also mentioned that the network is postponing the return of employees to its offices from September 7 to "early to mid-October" amid a rise in COVID-19 cases.
