German club Bayern Munich announced that their travel to Doha for the semi-final match against Egyptian club Al Ahly in the FIFA Club World Cup, currently held in Qatar, was delayed for more than seven hours due to refusal of takeoff clearance.
The Bayern Munich delegation was scheduled to leave for the Qatari capital, Doha, at 12:30 AM on a private jet. The Bavarian club stated: "Our departure for Doha for the FIFA Club World Cup was delayed by more than seven hours after being initially refused clearance to take off."
It is noteworthy that Bayern Munich will face Al Ahly in the semi-finals on the upcoming Monday. If they qualify, they will meet the winner of the second semi-final match between Mexican Tigres and Brazilian Palmeiras in the final.
