In Saudi Arabia: What the Driver of the Car that Rolled Over 14 Times Said

The driver of the Hilux vehicle that rolled over on the Rumaan dunes managed to escape safely from this incident, according to a video circulating among social media users. In the video, he climbs to the top of a sand dune, suddenly loses control, and flips 14 times while rolling on the sand dunes, ultimately achieving his goal of checking for any issues with the vehicle's engine and ensuring that all its equipment was intact.

Mahdi Al-Sanr, the vehicle's driver, stated, "The footage was a test for the Hilux that I was preparing to participate in the Liwa competition in the UAE, as I love off-roading and have been practicing it for six years. I am also a mechanic and part of a special group of Saudi youth, and we carry out operations to enhance and modify vehicles."

At 29 years old, Al-Sanr, who has loved mechanics since childhood, explained: "This talent led me to open a workshop that develops car engines and modifies cars by changing engines and gear, transferring from one car to another, and enhancing the vehicle in my own way."

He explained the meaning of "modifying and enhancing" cars as an operation that involves installing powerful engines by swapping their parts with those of other cars or ordering specific parts from America, especially the powerful engines that young people prefer. The vehicles are equipped with the latest capabilities for strength and speed.

Regarding the car's engine he was driving during the rollover, it had 120 horsepower, which he was able to boost to 700 horsepower. After the incident, he dismantled the entire vehicle, modified its engine for the competition, and restructured it within four days to be ready for participation, addressing all issues.

On the topic of the vehicle's rollover, he noted that this was the fourth time a vehicle had flipped over for him, and it was manageable because he had implemented all safety measures that ensure injuries do not exceed 10% by following all safety protocols, including the internal metal frame, roll cage, six-point safety belts, an electrical cutoff to prevent fires, and fuel insulation.

It is worth mentioning that a video was shared on Twitter from inside the young man's vehicle, which rolled over in the "Zulfi dunes" and tumbled 14 times after he lost control. The video, recorded by the young man himself while practicing off-roading, captured the moment of the rollover as he held onto the car's ceiling and secured his seatbelt.
