A leading expert has claimed that it is possible to upload your brain to the virtual world and live for more than 150 years. Dmitry Itskov is a Russian billionaire and part of the "2045 Initiative," a non-profit organization aimed at increasing human lifespan. The project argues that synthetic bodies will emerge by 2045, allowing people to transfer from their old bodies to new ones with the help of the internet.
Itskov stated that thanks to new artificial intelligence and virtual world technologies, people will one day be able to live forever by uploading their minds to the web. He remarked in a statement from the 2045 Initiative that people will make independent decisions regarding the extension of their lives and personal development possibilities in a new body once the resources of the biological body have been exhausted.
The concept, referred to as mind uploading, involves creating digital copies of humans' minds that can live freely in cyberspace, unrestricted by biology, according to the British newspaper Mirror.
Companies like Neuralink are exploring brain-computer interfaces that could form the basis for full brain uploading in the future. Itskov is not the only one who believes that advanced metaverse technologies hold the key to longevity, as futurist Tom Cheeswright has stated that technology may one day allow us to "insert our consciousness" into AI robots and virtual reality, but we are still far from achieving that.
