Title: UN: Israel's Closure of Seven Palestinian Organizations Further Shrinks Human Rights Space

The UN Human Rights Office expressed concern over Israel's "arbitrary closure" of seven Palestinian human rights and humanitarian organizations, calling on Israel to immediately reverse these decisions. It reiterated the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights' call to revoke the classification of these organizations as "terrorist and illegal," emphasizing that "Israeli authorities have not provided the United Nations with any reliable evidence to justify these actions, despite promises to provide proof."

The office stated that "as such, the closures appear entirely arbitrary," noting that "the closure of these organizations represents the latest assault in a series of attacks that significantly increase the shrinkage of human rights and humanitarian work in the occupied Palestinian territory, affecting all institutions working in the field of human rights, including the UN Human Rights Office." It called for the immediate protection of human rights defenders from these "unjustified attacks."
