The Russian Reconciliation Center in Syria announced information indicating that militants are preparing for a provocative operation using poisonous materials in northeast Idlib.
A short while ago, Al-Mayadeen TV reported based on the Russian Reconciliation Center, which announced the existence of information regarding militants preparing for a provocative operation using poisonous materials in northeast Idlib. The Russian Reconciliation Center added that militants have transferred containers likely containing chlorine to the Idlib area. Earlier, the Deputy Head of the Russian Reconciliation Center in Syria, Colonel General Vyacheslav Sitnik, announced that militants are preparing for provocative actions against the Syrian government in de-escalation zones. He stated, "According to available information, fighters from armed groups are preparing provocations to accuse the Syrian government forces of striking residential areas in the de-escalation zone in Idlib."
Sitnik noted that activity from the terrorist group "Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham" has been recorded in the area of Fu'ah in Idlib province, pointing out that a group from the "White Helmets," which Damascus accuses of ties with extremists and engaging in hostile activities, has arrived in Idlib province with filming equipment. Sitnik added that "the Russian reconciliation center calls on the leaders of armed factions to abandon armed provocations and pursue a peaceful settlement of the situation in the areas under their control." For its part, the Russian Foreign Ministry described the activities of the group as "an element of a media campaign aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the Syrian government and holding it responsible for potential provocations."
