"Um Abdu" Deceived Everyone and Collected Half a Billion

The Egyptian police revealed details about the arrest of "Um Abdu," known in the media as "the swindler of Menoufia," who is accused of embezzling 500 million Egyptian pounds from the residents of the area in Menoufia governorate in the Nile Delta. Investigations indicated that the accused arrived in Qena (southern Egypt) three weeks ago, rented an apartment in a building in the Shun District, and stayed there with her family, escaping from the citizens she deceived and from whom she seized their money under the pretext of investing it with the promise of large monthly profits.

After receiving a report from the residents of the Shun area in Qena about a brawl occurring at the suspect's residence, a security force arrived at the scene. The surprise was that the brawl involved a university professor and an engineer from Menoufia, who were with "Um Abdu" and her two daughters, due to her demand for the return of 10 million pounds that she had taken from them, claiming to invest it.

After questioning the university professor and the engineer, it was revealed that they had traveled from Menoufia to the suspect's residence after someone informed them that she had fled to Qena. Upon their arrival, they found her daughter with "Um Abdu," and a confrontation ensued that resulted in injuries to the suspect and her daughters. All members of the group present in the apartment were arrested and taken to the Qena police station to be presented to the prosecution, according to the Egyptian newspaper "Al-Watan."
