The American University Medical Center Clarifies

The Media Office at the American University Medical Center announced the temporary suspension of the official vaccination platform due to technical issues, despite the readiness of vaccines for administration. As a result, those in charge had to reach out to registered individuals who have priority for receiving the vaccine, fully respecting the procedures established by the authorities.

The National News Agency reported on the Media Office's statement regarding discussions on social media and some media outlets concerning the beneficiaries of vaccination on its first day. The Media Office emphasized that everyone who received the first dose of the vaccine, as defined by the Lebanese Ministry of Health and the CDC, consists of frontline healthcare workers present in various COVID-19 units and emergencies, who are in direct contact with patients. All of these individuals are registered on the Health Ministry's COVID-19 vaccination platform, following all guidelines set forth by the National COVID-19 Vaccination Committee.

The office pointed out that the team monitoring the vaccination process encountered some technical and technological obstacles as the official platform halted due to technical difficulties while the vaccines were ready for administration. This situation led vaccination officials to contact individuals registered on the platform who have priority for receiving the vaccine, while fully respecting the established procedures.

The office noted that yesterday was a trial day to ensure that the system operates effectively and smoothly. The participation of the American University Medical Center in this context reflects its belief in the necessity of collaboration and working with all stakeholders nationwide for the best results. The vaccination campaign commenced today and included not only healthcare workers at the medical center but also healthcare workers in other facilities whose names are registered on the Health Ministry's platform.

The American University Medical Center emphasized that it has always been a pioneer in applying the principle of equality among its employees, particularly the elderly or those with chronic diseases, ensuring the safety of all workers through vaccination is essential for its continued operation.
