The extensive fire occurred at the "Moldan" factory, which specializes in chemical and industrial alcohol manufacturing, located in the Shokouhiyah industrial city, as announced by the Students' News Agency (ISNA).

The Fars news agency reported that initial reports indicated flames ignited in several workshops in the industrial city, spreading to the main road. The fire has resulted in fatalities and injuries in the city. A total of 20 fire trucks and 150 firefighters have been dispatched to the scene.

Iranian media noted that several factories are currently ablaze in the Shokouhiyah industrial city in Qom, amidst reports of an unspecified number of casualties. A significant number of fire and rescue vehicles are present at the site, attempting to extinguish the fire and provide assistance.

Firefighters are working to put out the fire. Video footage showed thick black smoke billowing from the "Moldan" chemical factory near Qom, one of Iran's prominent religious cities. The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.

Hamid Karimi, spokesperson for the Qom Fire Department, stated that "hundreds of firefighters" are involved in combating the blaze, adding that the fire completely destroyed a fire truck and severely burned two firefighters. He continued, "Due to the size and intensity of the fire and the presence of highly flammable materials, the Qom firefighting team acted immediately with full force to contain the fire. The presence of phthalic raw materials, which are used in plastic production, made it difficult to contain the fire. The blaze caused explosions in the workshops; fortunately, firefighters quickly prevented the flames from reaching the alcohol and other flammable material tanks."
