First English Club Opens Its Stadium for Eid al-Adha Prayers

Blackburn Rovers, a club in England's Championship, has invited its Muslim fans to hold Eid al-Adha prayers at its stadium next Saturday. The announcement was made via the club's official Twitter page: "The stadium will be ready to welcome worshippers on Eid day."

"We are proud to announce that we will open the doors at Ewood Park to Muslims for Eid al-Adha prayers on Saturday, July 9." The club had previously opened its doors for Eid al-Fitr prayers, allowing Muslims residing in the city to pray inside Ewood Park.

The statement from the club mentioned that it would prepare all necessary services, including buses to transport worshippers, and they expect around 3,000 attendees at the stadium. The club expressed pride in being the first in Britain to undertake such an initiative.

The announcement received a warm welcome from many social media users; however, it also faced criticism from some fans who opposed opening the stadium at a time when ticket prices are significantly high. It is worth noting that the English club was established in 1875 and has won the English league title three times, with the last victory in the 1994-1995 season.
