Princess Beatrice, granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, has given birth to her first child with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, as announced by Buckingham Palace. This is the second grandchild born within a few months to Prince Andrew, who is being pursued in court by a woman in the United States accusing him of sexually assaulting her when she was a minor. These allegations are denied by the Queen's second son, according to "Monte Carlo."
A statement from Buckingham Palace said, "Beatrice and her husband are pleased to announce the safe birth of their daughter at 11:42 PM on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London," noting that the mother and child are "well." The newborn weighs around 2.8 kilograms and her name has not yet been revealed. She is currently 11th in the line of succession to the English throne and is the twelfth grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II, following the birth of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's daughter in June.
Princess Beatrice (33) married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi (37) in July 2020, who has a child from a previous relationship. Princess Eugenie, Beatrice's younger sister, gave birth to a son named August in February.
