The Syrian Criminal Security has arrested artist Ingi Khoury in the vicinity of the Mezze area in the capital, Damascus, following a lawsuit filed against her by Lebanese artist Shiraz.
The public prosecutor in Syria ordered her arrest on charges of defaming and slandering artist Shiraz, as well as illegally entering Lebanese territories multiple times, which has put her at risk of a six-month prison sentence. Previously, the Lebanese morality police arrested Ingi Khoury in February 2020 after she illegally crossed into Lebanese borders, violating a ruling that canceled her residency in Lebanon due to the dissemination of her indecent videos. The Lebanese Office of Morality and Drug Control charged Ingi Khoury with engaging in prostitution and drug use.
