Diplomatic sources revealed to the opposition-affiliated channel "Iran International" on Saturday that the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard orchestrated attempts to carry out three assassinations in Turkey, Germany, and France.
According to documents and information provided by unnamed sources to the channel, an individual from the Quds Force, who was detained in a European country, confessed to receiving $150,000 to prepare for the assassinations, with an additional million dollars promised upon their completion.
The report indicates that the Quds Force member admitted to receiving orders to kill an Israeli citizen working at the Israeli consulate in Istanbul. Additionally, the assassination of a senior American general in Germany and a journalist in France were other parts of the triple mission in Europe.
It is noteworthy that Iran had threatened to retaliate for the killing of Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force, who was assassinated by the United States near Baghdad Airport alongside Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the deputy head of the Popular Mobilization Forces in Iraq, in early 2020. Iran also threatened retaliation for the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh at the end of that year and accused Israel of being behind the operation.
