Government File "You're Stuck Here" ... No Solutions in Sight

Government File

The government file has seen no developments in recent days, except for a war of statements between Baabda Palace and Platinum, which Lebanese people have grown tired of after previously becoming accustomed to its episodes. They are aware that these battles are merely to gain more leverage in the government formation process. The circles of both parties have returned to a state of calm after the escalation, but this does not mean that there will be breakthroughs in the government formation file. There are no indicators suggesting that President Michel Aoun, along with MP Gibran Bassil and the Free Patriotic Movement, will relinquish what they consider "private possessions," such as the Ministry of Energy, the blocking third, and others.

What strengthens the belief that there are no solutions in sight is the lack of any announced visit by the designated Prime Minister Najib Mikati to Baabda Palace, nor any indication in his statements that suggest he is approaching the formation process differently. Meanwhile, Aoun insists on his conditions, thus, no government is expected in the foreseeable future. The current situation may persist until the end of the President's term, leading to a state of vacuum.
