A news report indicates that the instant messaging app "WhatsApp" plans to introduce a drawing service, adding an artistic touch to the app's usage. According to the tech news site (WABetaInfo), which tracks WhatsApp updates, the app is preparing new drawing tools for some users on the beta version for devices running "iOS," the operating system for iPhones.
The site added that WhatsApp intends to expand the range of these tools later, following a new app update. The new drawing tools in the app include two pens and a blur tool. Currently, the blur tool is available to WhatsApp users with iPhones when they upload photos. Thus, the new feature is the drawing editor interface, which does not require images to operate.
The site mentioned that WhatsApp plans to release this new service in the beta version available for Android users later on. With the addition of this new service, the instant messaging app used by over two billion people has expanded its services from text to multimedia and documents, and now to drawing. Since early 2022, WhatsApp has accelerated its efforts to add new services and address security vulnerabilities amid fierce competition with various rivals seeking to challenge its dominance in the instant messaging space.
