The following statement was issued by the media office of the Ministry of Health: "The Ministry of Public Health strongly condemns the repeated and unjustified assaults against medical staff in Lebanon, the latest being the attack on doctor W.D., who was physically assaulted by the family of a patient at the Islamic Charitable Hospital in Tripoli.
The ministry urges the security forces to take swift action to arrest the assailants and impose strict legal measures against them to prevent similar incidents from occurring. The ministry will also take on the role of private prosecution against the offenders.
Tomorrow, a delegation from the ministry will visit the hospital to gather details about the incident and check on the doctor’s health."
