Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi is set to visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran in the coming hours, leading a high-level delegation. According to reports, this visit is part of discussions that took place recently in Baghdad between Riyadh and Tehran at the end of the last month of Ramadan, as part of a roadmap to rectify relations, realign them, strengthen bilateral ties, and explore new horizons.
The same sources noted that the meetings in Riyadh and Tehran would address several important issues regarding the Iraqi mediation for re-establishing diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran, which will certainly have positive effects on Iraq in terms of enhancing partnerships and regional cooperation.
In this context, sources confirmed that the visit does not have any internal implications, and any discussion related to the new government is unfounded. They pointed out that the visit has a defined agenda and objective, focusing on external communication with various parties in the interest of Iraq, reflecting the government's belief that regional rapprochement benefits Iraq and enhances its regional and international presence.
