Zarif: Nuclear Weapon Does Not Enhance Iran's Security, It Disrupts Global Security

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif confirmed that the U.S. administration will gain nothing from Iran if it follows the behavior of the previous administration, emphasizing that nuclear weapons do not enhance Iran's security but rather disrupt global security.

Zarif elaborated in an interview earlier via Al-Manar TV that America has not implemented anything from the nuclear agreement over the past four years, which grants Iran the right not to comply according to Article 36 of the agreement since the other party is not fulfilling its obligations. He pointed out that nuclear weapons do not increase his country's security; instead, they harm global security, noting that if Biden adopts Trump’s approach, he will achieve nothing from Iran.

The Iranian Foreign Minister also referenced Saudi Arabia's inability to achieve a military victory, implying that it cannot negotiate what it has failed to achieve militarily. Zarif highlighted the error of what he called "our neighbors," as they allowed Israel to transfer the conflict onto their territories, stressing that it will deprive them of security and will not take the initiative to defend them.

He asserted that if Israel were to attack Iran, it would be a suicidal move. Regarding the situation in Syria, Zarif stated that Iran's objective in Syria is to combat terrorism, warning Israel that its policies of supporting terrorist groups will not go unanswered.

Concerning Lebanon, Zarif emphasized the need to assist the Lebanese in reaching an agreement among themselves. He revealed that Iran had presented proposals to aid Lebanon following the port explosion disaster, but American pressures prevented this. Zarif noted that no one can impose any agreement on the Lebanese.
