Latest Update on Elon Musk and Twitter Case

The world's richest person, Elon Musk, has issued a court order to former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, requiring him to provide a series of documents as part of the ongoing battle over Musk's decision to withdraw from a $44 billion purchase deal for the social media network. According to documents released on Monday, Dorsey has been ordered to deliver all documents and communications related to the purchase agreement signed in April, along with any information regarding fake accounts and Twitter's methodology for calculating active users.

This directive encompasses all available documents in Dorsey's possession since January 2019. Dorsey, who co-founded Twitter, stepped down as CEO of the company in November. Musk had entered into a $44 billion agreement to acquire the social media network before terminating it in early July. He accuses Twitter of lying about the percentage of automated accounts and spam messages on its platform, claiming the company "engaged in deception" by intentionally inflating the number of accounts that could generate revenue. In contrast, Twitter states that spam messages constitute less than 5% of activities on its platform.

Following the termination of the agreement, Twitter filed a lawsuit against Musk to compel him to fulfill his commitments. Musk, in turn, has filed a complaint seeking to be released from the obligations of the agreement and demanding that Twitter pay him damages. Lawyers for both parties have been engaged in a weeks-long battle involving subpoenas and document requests. The trial is scheduled to begin on October 17 in a Delaware court specializing in business law and is expected to last five days.
