Security Tension in the South After Rocket Launches

The coastal area south of the city of Tyre experienced security tension after midnight when unknown individuals fired two rockets from the region between the towns of al-Qlayla and al-Mansouri towards the occupied Palestinian territories. Meanwhile, UNIFIL troops sounded alarms at several sites under their control, particularly in the border locations of Naqoura, Shama, and al-Hamra. There was also a notable deployment and alertness among the Lebanese army along the southern coast. Following the rocket launch, there was an Israeli response, with Israeli artillery firing dozens of 155mm shells targeting various areas in Wadi Ain al-Zarqa between the towns of Tyre Harfa and Alama al-Shaab, as well as in Wadi Hassan between the towns of Shaheen, Zbaqin, Majdelzoun, and the area between the towns of Yater and Zbaqin, in addition to the regions of Hamoul and Wadi Rab in western Tyre Harfa. The Israeli bombardment continued intermittently until after 3:30 AM, consisting of artillery shells and illumination rounds, particularly over wooded areas, coinciding with hostile aircraft flying over the Lebanese-Palestinian border conducting mock raids. Caution returned to the region after 4 AM.
