Mohammad Nadim Al-Malah, the Deputy Secretary-General of the National Unity Platform, condemned the security events that occurred in Tripoli.
The National News Agency reported that Al-Malah denounced the incidents that took place in the past two days, particularly last night, involving the burning of public and private properties. He stressed that what happened is rejected and condemned, far removed from the ethics and culture of the good-hearted and beloved people of Tripoli. Al-Malah pointed out that Tripoli is a deprived and marginalized city, affirming that the people's rightful demands for their basic rights should not manifest in acts of violence and destruction. He stated, "The city of Al-Fayha deserves nothing but love and goodness, and we regret it being treated this way."
The Deputy Secretary-General of the National Unity Platform regarded these security incidents as extremely dangerous indicators, questioning whether the goal is to force Tripoli to become a mailbox. He demanded that the state assume its responsibilities and urged the security forces to act decisively to deter those disrupting security in order to protect Tripoli and its residents. Al-Malah called on President Saad Hariri to reveal those obstructing the formation of the government and to inform the public to expose the obstructors of the reform program in the country, asserting that it is no longer acceptable for the Prime Minister and the executive authority to be merely a tool of repression.
